The underestimated force of intuitive painting

There are many ways to be creative.
You can learn techniques.
You can copy a masterpiece.
You can follow step-by-step instructions and recreate something beautiful.
And yes — copying art requires focus, observation skills, patience and technical ability. It trains the eye. It sharpens your hand. It teaches discipline.
But intuitive painting is something entirely different.
It is not about reproducing what you see.It is about discovering what is already inside you.
Everyone is creative — but not everyone trusts it
I deeply believe that everyone who expresses themselves is creative.
If you cook with feeling, if you arrange flowers in your own way, if you dress with personality — you are creative.
The difference is not talent. The difference is trust.
Copying art asks:Can you make it look right?
Intuitive painting asks:Can you trust what wants to emerge?
And that is where things become interesting.
The inner critic gets loud before it gets quiet
Every time I run my workshop format “Mutig Malen” (Brave Painting), I see the same pattern.
At the beginning there is hesitation:
“I cannot paint.”
“I’m not creative.”
“What if it looks bad?”
That inner voice is loud. Analytical. Protective.
And then something shifts.
Brush touches canvas.Colors mix. Music fills the space. The room becomes quieter — not externally, but internally.
There is always a moment. A visible turning point.
From:“I don’t know what I’m doing.”
To:“Ohhh… I love this so much.”
That shift is powerful. It’s not about producing a perfect painting. It’s about reconnecting to intuition. About remembering what it feels like to create without judgement.
Why intuitive painting creates clarity
When we paint intuitively, we bypass overthinking. We allow color to speak before language does.We give emotion a shape.
And something unexpected happens: We discover ourselves in the process.
Intuitive painting is self-discovery.It is learning to silence the inner critic. It is giving space to what has been waiting quietly underneath.
And every single time I have run this workshop, it has been a success — not because of the paintings, but because of that transformation in the room.
Mutig Malen – 20 March in Zug
I am opening this space again.
On Friday morning, 20 March, I will host the next Mutig Malen workshop in a beautiful, light-filled new space in Zug at Peerspace.
From experience I know: there are more people free on Friday mornings in Zug than one might think 😉
So here we go again.
To all the brave ones.
2 hours of guided intuitive painting
Space for reflection and self-discovery
Coffee, tea and cookies
Carefully chosen music
All materials included
Investment: 90 CHF
This is not just a painting session. It is an experience. A return to trust. A journey back to yourself. A quiet rebellion against perfectionism.
If something inside you whispers “maybe…” —that’s your intuition already speaking.
And maybe it’s time to listen.
I would love to paint with you. More info & subscription Laura
