My name is Laura Latacz, and I am a Certified Therapeutic Art Coach and the founder of Hands-on Art.

I am born and raised in Belgium. Since 2015 I happily call Switzerland my home.

Maybe my story sounds familiar to you.

As a child growing up, I loved painting, drawing, and creating with my hands. I even attended art school, but soon I believed the voice that many of us hear: “You’re not talented enough.” Creative, yes — but talented? Not quite. Still, I always felt something magical when I created. I gave myself little creative assignments just for fun — a way to boost my mood and connect with myself. Growing up in the nineties, art was my private sanctuary, a personal outlet, not something for the outside world.

Even though I was drawn to an artistic path, I chose a safer route academically and earned a Master’s in Communication Sciences at KU Leuven (Belgium) in 2008. My studies, and later my work in marketing, revolved around understanding people — psychology, sociology, consumer behavior. Being genuinely interested in others and helping them grow always kept me motivated. Social sciences is something that always interested me.

After university, I moved to Berlin, Germany — a city that sparked my creativity even more and opened my eyes to diversity. Meeting people from all over the globe was enriching in countless ways, and it was there I met a Swiss man, who later became my husband, with whom I moved to Switzerland.

Berlin showed me the power of creativity as a bridge between cultures, perspectives, and experiences.

Today, I live in Zug, in Central-Switzerland. Becoming a mother has deepened my understanding of the importance of self-expression, emotional balance, and creative outlets. I know how essential it is to have a safe space to reconnect with yourself — whether as a parent or simply as someone navigating life’s demands.

In 2020, during the global pandemic, I faced the same challenges as many others: isolation, uncertainty, and stress. It was in those months that I rediscovered the true power of art. Creating became more than a hobby — it became a lifeline, a way to process emotions, regain balance, and reconnect with myself. That same year, I graduated as a Certified Creative Art Therapist and Creativity Coach from IEK Berlin (Institut für Entspannungstechniken & Kommunikation).

This experience inspired me to create Hands-on Art — a space where people can explore creativity safely, freely, and meaningfully. Here, art is not about making “perfect” or Instagram-ready pieces. It is about using creativity as a tool for self-expression, reflection, and personal growth. Through guided sessions, workshops, and private events, I help people unlock their potential, release stress, and gain insight into their emotions.

My role is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where your hands, imagination, and intuition guide the process.

My mission is to make the healing benefits of art accessible to as many people as possible.

I envision a community where creativity becomes a path to wellness, growth, and connection — not just for a few, but for everyone who wants to experience it.

For me, art is wellness for the soul.
